山陽・九州新幹線直通列車は「さくら」に決定

JR西日本とJR九州の発表によれば、山陽新幹線と九州新幹線を直通運転する列車の名前が「さくら」に決定しました。

先に発表・公開されていた直通運転に利用される車両(N700系7000番台)は「日本の伝統文化が色濃く残る関西圏と九州圏を結ぶ新しい新幹線として、日本の美しさ、力強さ、凛々しさを表す"凛"をキーワードとして日本的なもてなしの心地よさを表現」したもので、このコンセプトをもとに2008/10/20～11/30、列車名の募集が行われました。この募集期間に寄せられたおよそ17万票の応募の中で、今回列車名に選ばれた「さくら」は最多票を獲得したそうです。

応募された列車名のうち、票の多かったものは次の通り。

さくら (7,927票)
はやぶさ (6,917票)
はやと (6,270票)
さつま (6,024票)
みらい (3,803票)

南から北上する桜前線にあわせて鹿児島中央から新大阪へ新幹線「さくら」が直通運転を開始するのは2011年春。新大阪～鹿児島中央間は、新幹線によって約4時間で結ばれるそうです。新幹線で、また少し遠くまで行けるようになりますね。

JR West and JR Kyushu announced that they decided the through train between Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen to be named "Sakura".

The new cars for this thorough service project an image of Japanese hospitality with its traditional beauty and dignity. The 170 thousand application for the new train name were accepted until November 30, 2009 and "Sakura" obtained the greatest number of votes.

Heavy voted names are shown below.

Sakura (7,927 votes)
Hayabusa (6,917 votes)
Hayato (6,270 votes)
Satsuma (6,024 votes)
Mirai (3,803 votes)

The through train "Sakura" between Kagoshima-chuo and Shin-osaka will start to run just in time for coming up cherry blossom front in the spring of 2011 and it travels between the two cities in about 4 hours.

岡山支社もGWのきっぷを事前受付

ごめんなさい。先日の記事(「広島支社がGWのきっぷを事前受付」posted on 2008/02/21)でゴールデンウィークのきっぷの事前申込について「02/21現在、(中略)受付実施の発表が確認できているのは広島支社のみ」と書いてしまいましたが、広島支社と同じく02/20にJR西日本岡山支社でも同様のリリースを出していました。岡山支社のリリースを見落としていたようです、申し訳ありません。

さて、岡山支社による事前申込の受付、概要は下記の通りです。

受付期間：2009/03/01(日)～04/05(日)
対象期間：2009/04/24(金)～05/06(水・祝)
取扱箇所：JR西日本岡山支社内の主な駅(32駅)の「みどりの窓口」
申込方法：
- 取扱各駅の「みどりの窓口」へお越しいただく
- 取扱各駅の窓口へお電話いただく

ゴールデンウィークのきっぷの事前申込について、沿線のその他のエリアでも同様の取り扱いがあるようでしたら発表され次第お知らせいたします。

About the acceptance of advanced application for tickets during the Golden Week period, on the previous article (「広島支社がGWのきっぷを事前受付」posted on 2008/02/21) I reported "only Hiroshima Branch announced such acceptance at the date of 21 February". I am sorry that I passed over the release from Okayama Branch of JR West.

Okayama Branch announced that they would accept advance application for the Golden Week period's tickets.

Period of acceptance: March 01, 2009 through April 05, 2009
Travel Dates: April 24, 2009 through May 06, 2009
Handling at: 32 stations with JR trains booking counters (みどりの窓口) within district boundary of Okayama Branch of JR West
How To Subscribe:
- Go to the JR trains booking counter in one of 32 stations noted above
- Place a cell to the counter described above

I am going to report you the similar handling announcement in other districts.

広島支社がGWのきっぷを事前受付

東京では冬の寒さもひと段落、スギ花粉の舞う季節になりましたが。。。。早くもJR西日本広島支社がゴールデンウィークのきっぷの事前申込受付の実施を発表しました。ことしのゴールデンウィークは最終日が05/06(水・祝)で昨年よりも1日長い連休となるため、多くの方のご利用が予想されています。ゴールデンウィークのきっぷは早めに申し込んで、ステキなゴールデンウィークをお楽しみください。

受付期間：2009/03/01(日)～03/21(土)
対象期間：2009/04/24(金)～05/06(水・祝)
取扱箇所：JR西日本広島支社内「みどりの窓口」設置駅(76駅)
申込方法：
- 取扱各駅の「みどりの窓口」へお越しいただく
- 広島駅新幹線口1階「みどりの窓口」内の専門コーナーへお越しいただく
- 広島駅新幹線口1階「みどりの窓口」内の専門コーナーへお電話いただく
- 三原駅、新山口駅等主要駅(17駅)へFAXでお申込いただく

なお、02/21現在、ゴールデンウィークのきっぷの事前申込について受付実施の発表が確認できているのは~~広島支社のみ~~[訂正2009/02/26: 岡山支社も同様のリリースを02/20に出していました]です。(他地域でも同様の取り扱いの発表が順次なされるものとは思いますが。。。。)

Hiroshima Branch of JR West announced that they would accept advanced application for tickets during the Golden Week period from 24 April to 06 May. If you travel in this period, you may be free from making queu at the windows to book seats.

Handling At: 76 stations with JR trains booking counters (みどりの窓口) within district boundary of Hiroshima Branch of JR West
How To Subscribe:
- Go to the JR trains booking counter in one of 76 stations noted above.
- Go to the special counter at JR trains booking counter in Hiroshima station.
- Place a call to the special counter at JR trains booking counter in Hiroshima station.
- Fax an order to one of major 17 stations like Mihara, Shin Yamaguchi, etc.

Though ~~only Hiroshima Branch~~ [CORRECTION on 2009/02/26: also Okayama Branch released similar announcement on February 20] announced such acceptance at the date of February 21, I am expecting similar handling will be done in other districts.
