新山口駅がバリアフリー整備完了

新山口駅のバリアフリー施設整備工事が完了し、2010/03/02から供用が開始されました。

今回の整備対象は新山口駅の2階と3階で、1階から2階へのアクセスは未整備。車いすをご利用の方は、ひきつづき1階から3階まで直通の荷物用エレベータで移動する状態がまだ当面続くそうです。

主な整備内容

コンコース(2階)から各ホーム(3階)へのエレベータを新設(2基)
コンコース(2階)から各ホーム(3階)への階段へ2段手すりと音声音響案内装置を設置
オストメイトにも対応した多機能トイレを新設
誘導警告ブロックの新設・改修

JR West said that they equipped Shin-Yamaguchi Station with barrier-free facilities and it has been in-service since March 2, 2010.

This improvement project was for the second and third floor in that station and the access to the ground floor was not improved. Passengers in wheelchairs are still required to use a freight elevator from the ground floor to the third floor.

2010/03/07利用分まででいったん販売終了となっていた「こだま指定席往復きっぷ」が、利用期間を03/13～05/31として販売再開されます。このきっぷは、山陽新幹線の設定区間で「こだま」(一部の「ひかり」)の普通車指定席を往復利用できるお得なきっぷです。こども料金が距離にかかわらず一律3,000円で、春休み期間中もゴールデンウィーク期間中も利用可能とのこと。ご家族での旅行が特にお得になるきっぷです。

JR West said they start to sell Kodama Shiteiseki Oufuku Kippu (こだま指定席往復きっぷ meaning Roundtrip Ticket for Reservation Seats on Kodama Trains) again for the travels between March 13, 2010 and May 31. This ticket allows round trip within specific sectors on Sanyo Shinkansen by reserved seats on Kodama and some Hikari trains. The price for a child is flat fare of JPY 3,000 regardless of actual travel distance and with no blackout dates even during spring vacation and Golden Week holidays. So this helps families to go together.

山陽新幹線で岡山手前まで携帯電話OK、2011年から

総務省近畿総合通信局の発表によれば、山陽新幹線の姫路駅から岡山県境(帆坂トンネルの岡山県側出口)までのトンネル区間で電波遮蔽対策事業が実施されるそうです。この事業によって、トンネル内でも携帯電話が途切れずに利用できるようになります。サービス開始予定は2011年3月とのこと。

なお、トンネル内での携帯電話利用に対する同様の対策は東海道新幹線の東京～新大阪間では2003年に実施済みです。また、新大阪～姫路間は現在整備中で、今月中にサービスを開始する予定だそうです。姫路まで整備された1年後には岡山県境まで、整備区間が拡大するわけですね。

今回の事業区間より西は総務省中国総合通信局・九州総合通信局のエリアになりますが、いまのところ山陽新幹線のトンネル内での電波遮蔽対策事業について実施の発表はないようです。また、N700系車内での無線LANによるインターネット接続は携帯電話とは別のしくみ(漏洩同軸ケーブル(LCX))を利用しているため、ひきつづき東京～新大阪間でのサービス提供となります。

Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said verbal and data communications on mobile phones in Shinkansen tunnels will be available between Himeji and east end of Okayama Pref. from March, 2011.

Antenna installation for tunnels were completed between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka by 2003 and the installation reaching Himeji by the end of this month. Improved zones are extended and in a year it will have been to the east end of Okayama Pref.

At this moment, any antenna installation plans for sections west of Okayama Pref. are not announced. And the providing zone of internet access service through N700 series in-vehicle wireless LAN will have been restricted within Tokaido Shinkansen between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka for a while, because its communication method and required equipments are different from the antennas for the mobile communication.

2010/03/13のダイヤ改正にあわせて、JR東海のICカード「TOICA」の電子マネーサービスが開始されます。

TOICA電子マネー開始時に利用できるのは、JR東海エリアの駅売店等250店舗と飲料自動販売機335箇所の他、Suica、ICOCA加盟店約6万8000店。また、Suica、ICOCAの電子マネーサービスとの相互利用も開始されるため、SuicaやICOCAを持つ人もTOICAエリアで電子マネーを使ったお買い物ができるようになります。なお、駅売店等店舗での利用は03/13から、飲料自動販売機での利用は03/13～15の期間で順次利用開始となるそうです。

TOICA電子マネーが利用できる店舗等は、TOICAエリアのエキナカ＆マチナカで今後拡大する予定だそうです。

JR Central announced they will release electronic money function on TOICA, the IC rail pass card issued by them, on March 13, 2010.

On the day of service starting, TOICA electronic money will be acceptable at 250 kiosks and Bellmarts, and 335 drink vending machines in stations of JR Central area. In addition, about 68,000 member stores of Suica and ICOCA will also accept TOICA. On the same day, TOICA, Suica and ICOCA electronic moneys will start to be available in each other's service area. The service start date is March 13 for kiosks and stands, and sequentially from March 13 through 15 for vending machines.

They said the number of TOICA electronic money member stores will grow in and out of stations in the TOICA area in the years ahead.

「EXお出かけ早特」が内容をリニュアルし、この春、期間限定で発売されます。

前回(2009/10/31～2010/01/11の土日祝日と年末年始期間利用分)と比較すると、今回のEXお出かけ早特は料金が各区間で200円ずつ値上げ(普通車指定席用)されました。また、前回設定のあった静岡・浜松～新神戸間は、今回は設定がないため利用できません。

九州新幹線(博多～新八代)の駅名が正式決定

2011年3月の開業を目指して工事が進められている九州新幹線の博多～新八代間について、設置される各駅の名称が決定したそうです。

先行開業している新八代～鹿児島中央間も含め、九州新幹線の駅は以下のようになります。

博多(福岡市)：山陽新幹線に直通予定、博多南線・鹿児島本線・地下鉄に接続
新鳥栖(鳥栖市に新設)：長崎本線に接続

春(2010/03/01～06/30)の臨時列車の概要が発表されました。

ご利用の集中する期間・時間帯には指定席が取りやすくなるよう、引き続ききめ細かく臨時列車が運転されます。特に、東京から新大阪方面へは金曜の夕刻、ゴールデンウィーク、連休を中心に1時間あたり最大9本の「のぞみ」が運転されますが、そのうち最大5本が山陽新幹線へ直通するとのこと。期間中、東海道・山陽新幹線を直通する「のぞみ」は1日平均107本。特に、ゴールデンウィーク期間は1日平均121本の直通「のぞみ」が運転されるそうです。

快適性・省エネルギー性に優れたN700系車両を使った「のぞみ」はさらに本数が増加し、6月末には1日あたり126本運転されることが発表されました。「のぞみ」へのN700系投入と並行して、300系で運転されている「こだま」1往復が700系へ置き換えられます。

なお、東京～博多間で1往復だけの定期「500系のぞみ」として現在運転されている「のぞみ29号」と「のぞみ6号」は、03/01からN700系で運転されます。この置き換えにより、500系車両で運転される定期列車の「のぞみ」は全廃となります。

JR Central and JR West released the outlines of train schedule for this spring, from March 1, 2010 through June 30.

According to them, many extra trains will run during busy days and hours. They said up to 9 Nozomi services per hour on Tokaido Shinkansen and 5 direct services to Sanyo Shinkansen will be available in Friday evenings, three-day weekends and Golden Week holidays. The number of direct Nozomi services scheduled is 107 a day on average during the spring and 121 a day on average during Golden Week holidays.

Additionally more N700 series, most comfortable and energy saving vehicles on Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen, will go into the service and 126 Nozomi trains in N700 series will run a day at the end of June. The number of Kodama trains of 700 series is also increased.

On March 1, Nozomi 29 and 6, the last Nozomi services of 500 series, will start to run in N700 series. This means regular Nozomi service in 500 will be finished at the end of February.

JR各社から、来年3月のダイヤ改正の概要が発表されました。ダイヤ改正が実施されるのは2010/03/13(土)。新型車両N700系の乗車機会拡大、早朝の上り「のぞみ」の利便性向上、運転区間延長による東京～博多間直通「のぞみ」の増大などが目玉のようです。

東海道・山陽新幹線直通の定期「のぞみ」全便をN700系で運転

快適性と省エネルギー性に優れた新型車両N700系の投入が進み、東海道・山陽新幹線を直通する定期「のぞみ」全便(101本)がN700系で運転されるようになります。東京～新大阪間でもおおよそ7割の「のぞみ」がN700系で運転されることになり、N700系の乗車機会が飛躍的に増大します。

早朝の上り「のぞみ」の利便性が向上

平日、新大阪・京都からは始発から連続6本、名古屋からは始発から連続7本の「のぞみ」がN700系で運転されます。また、一部の列車の速達化と運転間隔の平準化が図られます。名古屋始発ののぞみ298号はN700系化に伴い、新横浜・品川・東京の到着時刻はそのままに、名古屋の発車時刻が5分繰り下げられます。西明石始発ののぞみ100号はN700系化によって東京到着が7分繰り上がり(現行09:00着 → 改正後08:53着)、西明石・新神戸から東京に8時台に到着する列車が誕生することになります。

東京～博多間の「のぞみ」を毎時3本運転する時間帯を拡大

毎時2本運転されている東京～博多間の「のぞみ」に加え、東京～広島間の一部の「のぞみ」の運転区間が博多まで拡大されます。東京～博多間を直通する「のぞみ」は57本から65本に増加し、東京～博多間の「のぞみ」が1時間あたり3本走行する時間帯が朝夕を中心に増加します。なお、この運転区間拡大にともない、運転時間帯の近接する一部の「のぞみ」の運転区間が短縮されます。

「ひかり」「こだま」の見直し

夕刻の東京～新大阪間の「こだま」1本が東京～名古屋間の運転となります。また、この列車から乗り継げる後続の「ひかり」が岐阜羽島・米原に停車し、京都・新大阪へ延着となります。山陽新幹線の「ひかりレールスター」は利用の少ない5往復の定期運転を取りやめ、臨時列車として多客期にのみ運転されるようになります。また、「こだま」は岡山～広島間で3往復、広島～博多間で1往復、小倉～博多間で3往復が減便となります。

The points of new schedule are expansion of opportunity for getting series N700 new model cars, boosting convenience of early-morning eastbound Nozomi service and growing in frequency of direct Nozomi service between Tokyo and Hakata.

All direct Nozomi services between Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen are in series N700!

The procurement of late model Shinkansen series N700 cars which are comfortable and enhancing energy conservation is now going in gear. With the new schedule, all of 101 direct Nozomi services between Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen will be in series N700. Between Tokyo and Shin-osaka, about 70% of Nozomi trains will be in series N700.

Early-morning eastbound Nozomi service gets more convenient!

In weekday early-morning, 6 Nozomi trains in row leaving Shin-osaka and Kyoto and 7 leaving Nagoya will be in series N700. The travel time of some train will be reduced and operation intervals equalized. Nozomi 298 from Nagoya will be in series N700 and its departure time of Nagoya put off by 5 minutes without change of its arrival time for Shin-yokohama, Shinagawa and Tokyo. Also Nozomi 100 from Nishi-akashi will be in series N700 and it will arrive at Tokyo 7 minutes earlier than before. It means passengers from Nishi-akashi and Shin-kobe can arrive Tokyo before 9:00 with the new schedule.

3 Nozomi services an hour between Tokyo and Hakata is aveilable in more hours!

In addition to two Nozomi services an hour between Tokyo and Hakata, some Nozomi train will be expanded its travel reach to/from Hakata. The number of Nozomi trains between Tokyo and Hakata is 57 a day and it will be 65. In more hours of morning and evening, three Nozomi services an hour between Tokyo and Hakata is available. And some Nozomi train's travel span will be shortened because it will run shortly before/after the travel range expanded Nozomi.

Revision of Hikari and Kodama services

One Kodama train between Tokyo and Shin-osaka will finish its travel at Nagoya and the following Hikari train will stop at Gifu-hashima and Maibara. The daily service of Hikari Rail Star in off season will be reduced by 5 round trips. Three Kodama trains between Okayama and Hiroshima, one between Hiroshima and Hakata and three between Kokura and Hakata will be omitted.

JR West released a special discount ticket for New Year's Day in 2010. It is Ganjitsu JR West Norihodai Ticket (元日・JR西日本乗り放題きっぷ meaning JR West Unlimited Ride Ticket on New Year's day) and it allows unlimited travel on January 1, 2010. They are offering first visit to a distant shrine and some benefit for ticket holders are available at major 10 shrines.

Though most special discount tickets released by JR West in these days are for travelers at least two persons traveling along, this ticket is good for also a traveler.

年末年始の期間中、東京～新大阪間で臨時の「のぞみ」が16本追加運転されることが発表されました。この追加運転により、単純計算で指定席は17,168席(うちグリーン車3,200席)増加します。年末年始の指定席が、少しだけ取りやすくなりますね。

JR Central said that 16 additional Nozomi trains will run between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka during winter holidays. The availability of bookable seats will be increased by 17,168, including 3,200 seats of Green cars.
