秋は1年のうちでも祝日の多い季節。9～12月の一部の祝日限定でJR西日本と智頭急行全線の新幹線・特急・急行・普通列車の普通車自由席とJR西日本宮島フェリーが乗り放題の「日帰りJR西日本フリーパス」が販売されます。きっぷには、ご旅行中に普通車指定席を4回利用できる「普通車用」と、グリーン車が4回利用できる「グリーン車用」の2種類があるそうです。
最近のJR西日本に多い「2名以上」きっぷです。残念ながら、一人旅では使えません。

- きっぷの効力：JR西日本全線と智頭急行全線の新幹線・特急・急行・普通列車とJR西日本宮島フェリーが1日だけ乗り降り自由。ご旅行中、「普通車用」では普通車指定席を4回、「グリーン車用」ではグリーン車を4回まで利用できます。

- 北近畿タンゴ鉄道、井原鉄道、若桜鉄道、錦川鉄道などの会社線は利用できません。
- キヨスクなどで使える商品引換券(500円分)付き。(こども用は対象外)
- 駅レンタカー(Sクラス)が利用日当日限り2,000円で利用可能。
In Japan, fall is the holiday-studded season. JR West released Overview of Higaeri JR West's Free Pass (日帰りJR西日本フリーパス), a free pass for one-day travelers. This ticket has two types of for second class and first class.
It is frequently seen in JR West in these days this ticket is for at least two persons traveling along and NOT good for solo trip.
Overview of Higaeri JR West's Free Pass
- Name of the ticket: Higaeri JR West's Free Pass (日帰りJR西日本フリーパス meaning JR West's One-Day Free Pass)
- Travel dates: September 23, November 3, November 23 and December 23, 2010
- Period of selling: from September 10, 2010 through December 22
Tickets are available from a month to one day before departure. - Maximum period of travel: one day
- Effects of the ticket: This ticket allows unlimited travel by trains on JR West and Chizu Express Lines and JR West Miyajima Ferry. Passengers with second class ticket can take reserved seats up to four legs and with first class ticket can take Green Car up to four legs.

- Whole of JR West lines including Sanyo Shinkansen
- Whole of Chizu Express lines
- JR West Miyajima Ferry
- Prices:
- [second class] JPY 12,000 (JPY 2,000 for a child)

- Remarks:
- This ticket is NOT valid on Tokaido Shinkansen, Kagoshima Line and Sanyo Line between Shimonoseki and Moji.
- This ticket is NOT valid on other railway company's lines like Kitakinki Tango Railway, Ibara Railway, etc.
- Passengers can earn privilege of a coupon of JPY 500 to be used at Kiosk etc.
- Special discount of rent-a-car at station (駅レンタカー), JPY 2,000 of class S car on the travel day, is available.
