新大阪駅では、東海道新幹線の輸送の弾力性や旅客サービス向上を目指して2007年から大規模改良工事を実施しています。JR東海によれば、新設される「27番線」のホーム桁を架設する夜間工事が今週末から7月下旬にかけて行われます。作業時間帯(土休日の深夜から早朝)は新幹線高架下の新御堂筋は通行止めになるそうです。
この「27番線」は現在の26番線の北側に増設されるもので、供用開始は2012年度末となる見込みです。同時期には駅コンコース等の改良工事も完了し、新大阪駅がもっと使いやすい駅になる予定です。
なお、作業は新幹線が運転していない時間帯に実施されるため、今回の工事による新幹線の運行への影響(運転時刻や行き先等の変更)はありません。
The Shin-Osaka Station's improvement work has been underway since 2007 in order to increase flexibility of train operation and enhance traveler-friendly service. JR Central said the beam for newly-built platform 27 will be installed by the end of July. The operation will be performed in the midnight of weekends and Shin-Mido-Suji street under the site will be closed during the working.
The new platform 27 will be opened in the spring of 2013. At the same time, the improvement work will be completed and Shin-Osaka Station will be reborn as more comforting one.
The Shinkansen train schedule will have no change with this construction work because the operation will be taken during off-hours of the service.
