来年(2011年)3月の九州新幹線全線開通に向けて熊本市に建設が進められている「熊本総合車両基地」で、車両基地と新幹線車両の一般見学会が08/21(土)・22(日)に開催されます。
当日は車両基地内の施設見学のほか、新大阪～鹿児島中央間を走る「さくら」用車両(N700系8両編成)と九州新幹線「つばめ」用車両(新800系)の車内も見学できるとのこと。入場無料ですが、事前の申し込みが必要。2日間で計6,000名の参加者を募集(06/13締切)しています。

JR Kyushu announced the Kyushu Shinkansen's depot in Kumamoto will be opened to the public on August 21 and 22, 2010.
On the days, depot's facilities and vehicles of 8-car set of N700 series for Sakura services between Shin-Osaka and Kagoshima-Chuo, and new 800 series for Tsubame services between Hakata and Kagoshima-Chuo. No admission fee is required, but advanced reservations required. 6,000 people chosen by lottery will participate in this event.
