  • Renovated restaurant zone in Nagoya Station Hirokoji-guchi side will open in December.

    JR Central released they will open renovated “Nagoya Umaimon-dori Hrokoji-guchi” in Nagoya Station, which was “Cuisine Marché Eki” before, with new four restaurants on December 7. Hereby all restaurant zones in the station will be named as “Nagoya Umaimon-dori”. Existing “Nagoya Umaimon-dori” in Taikodori side, in passage between Taikodori side and Hirokoji side and new “Nagoya Umaimon-dori Hirokoji-guchi” will have 45 restaurants.

  • Outlines of new Kumamoto Station’s terminal building which will open in 2021.

    JR Kyushu released the outlines of new Kumamoto Station’s terminal building development project. They will start to develop it from the spring of 2019 and it will open in the spring of 2021.

  • The congestion guessing for 2017-18 winter holidays

    We supposed that the number of trains is increased on the day of much demand which is estimated by JR companies. Tokado, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen’s most frequently serviced days during the winter holidays (December 28, 2017 to January 4, 2018) are December 29 for outbound trains and January 4 for inbound. Therefore the peak of crowding should be on these days.

  • Shinkansen’s first/last trains to go the winter Comiket 2017

    The world’s largest dojinshi fair “Comic Market” will be held at Tokyo International Exhibition Center (Tokyo Big Sight) from December 29 to 31. This article is for participants going there by Shinkansen.

  • Okayama Depot’s will be opened on November 26.

    JR West announced the Shinkansen’s depot in Okayama will be opened to the public as Sanyo Shinkansen Fureai Day (山陽新幹線ふれあいデー) on November 26. Many special events are planned for this year’s Fureai Day because its 30th anniversary of JR companies. The admission will be decided by lot. (The deadline for application was October 16.)
