The antenna installation work in tunnels of Kyushu Shinkansen for the verbal and data communication over mobile phones beyond Shin-Omuta have started. This is because Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications decided to subsidize the project of the antenna installation work for those tunnels. According to a published report, the project will be finished by the spring of 2018.
The West Japan Railway Company and JR Kyushu announced that they will release Super Hayatoku 21 (スーパー早特21), purchasable until 21 days before the travel date between Shin-Osaka/Shin-Kobe – Kumamoto/Kagoshima-Chuo, from June 21. The ticket between Shin-Osaka/Shin-Kobe – Kumamoto is priced at 12,000 yen and Shin-Osaka/Shin-Kobe – Kagoshima-Chuo at 13,000 yen. It is cheaper than Super Hayatoku Ticket (スーパー早特きっぷ) which is available until 14 days before the travel date.
In-car sales on Tokaido Shinkansen (Nozomi and Hikari) are offering the discount campaign of chu-hai and snacks.
In May, this site Shinkansen Timetable had been visited 416 thousand times by 316 thousand users, and the page view was 1227 thousand. The26.2% in the total access was through desktop, 68.1% through mobile, 5.7% through tablet.
JR Central announced the Shinkansen’s depot in Hamamatsu will be opened to the public as Shinkansen Naruhodo Hakken Day (新幹線なるほど発見デー) on July 22 and 23. This is the first open after renovation work at this depot. At the site, visitors can watch the work of newly installed Shinkansen car’s head polishing machine. The familiar act of the flying shinkansen, a demonstration of crane work, is abandoned because the renovated factory dosn’t require such crane work for examing shinkansen cars. So the demonstration is not to be seen.
